Are pets really that expensive?

We have been talking about how much our dogs cost us lately after reading a few articles. Trakker eats everything in site and then some. He also had an eye surgery this year. Seems like they always need shots. When we go out of town, they have to be kenneled or we have to get a dog sitter. It just adds up.

I found this article over at Free Money Finance that talks more in depth about the cost of owing a pet. If you have a cat, dog, skunk or fish, its worth a read.
