contacts
i am trying my first pair of contacts. when many people i know are trying lasik, i am just now trying eye contacts. i have been getting tired of my glasses so i went to the eye doctor last wednesday. my eyes have barely changed, not enough to get new glasses. i mentioned i wanted to try contacts so she fit me for some. i had the hardest time getting them in. it took at least 20 minutes. i was able to take one out but didn’t want to have a hard time putting them both in so stopped at that one.
i went home thinking everything was cool with these things, until i couldn’t take them out!! after many many tries, danielle had to rip them out of me, literally. i called my sister and my mom and neither could help so i let danielle do it since she also wears contacts. i was on my bed kicking and screaming the whole time. i was so glad to finally have them out.
my eyes were so irritated thursday morning i decided no contacts.
friday came around and i couldn’t get them in again. danielle finally put them in for me but she was so frustrated with me. apparently i don’t know how to keep my eye open. i think my eye sockets are too small. my venus-flytrap eye lashes also get in the way. i was able to get the contacts out on my own after talking to my sister for one eye, and reading ‘eye contact removal methods’ on the web for the other eye.
i can’t remember saturday or sunday but danielle got them in with much yelling i think.
monday came around and i really thought i could do this but there i was begging danielle to wake up much earlier than she really had to, just to get my new eyes in to drive to work. her breath stunk so bad and we both again got really frustrated with each other. this was the first day for me to drive to work with contacts and regular, cheap sunglasses from target. i could see but not as well as i thought i did with my glasses. i got to work and started my daily 8 hours of looking at a computer screen. my eyes started to bother my by noon. i ended up using lubrication drops a few times and taking them out around 2pm at my desk. came out easily enough but made me think, i’m not sure about this whole contact thing. i go back to my eye doctor saturday..
I’m sick again..
why so soon again? i was just sick at the beginning of january before my cruise. i was sneezing a lot yesterday. last night i was just so tired and went to bed at about 8pm. my throat was hurting and was feeling so achy. my husband made me tea but i feel sleep again after only one sip. i woke up coughing a few times and just felt terrible when it was time to get up for work. i decided to stay home even though i knew i would have to get up and do some work upstairs, but i guess that beat driving into work. my eyes feel all irritated and fuzzy too but i wonder if that is just from the new contact lenses. going to go look for some soup. hope you are healthier today than me.

13 years ago today…
i broke my right leg, compound fracture of the tibia and fibia, playing on a trampoline at a party. My bestfriend’s brother and I were jumping and my leg when through the side springs and snapped in two. Boy did that hurt! I saw my own bone. I was home for Christmas break. I wanted a new computer but my dad was out of the country on business and my mom didn’t want to spend 4K without him. My mom told me to go out and have fun. She didn’t know she would be meeting me in the emergency room a few hours later. I was in shock but in so much pain at the same time. I remember I was wearing my favorite jeans and they had to be cut off me at the hospital to get to my leg. I have lovely scares to always remind me of that night. I do want to write more about it but have to take Mason to get a haircut…
