White Linen Nights

I wanted to make sure you all knew about this event. If you’ve not been before, it is a huge event hosted by many businesses in the Heights area. Lots of live music, drinks and food. There’s a shuttle bus that you can ride from each area, but if you don’t know where to start 19th street is a safe bet.

White Linen Nights - Saturday, August 2nd

White Linen Night brought out an estimated 13,000 visitors in its first year. 20,000 in its second. This year, from 4:00 to 10:00pm, art lovers will wear white linen, discover Heights treasures, and take to the Heights streets - one of the hottest professional art scenes in Texas - and an area that promises “small town cool in the center of the big city.” The event, a celebration of art, culture, and community, will offer complimentary cooling summer beverages and recipes sponsored and provided by Glaceau VitaminWater, Sweet Leaf Teas, Bacardi, St. Arnold’s Brewery, Real Ale Brewing Company, entertainment, boutiques and shops, art galleries, some of the best restaurants in Houston, and eclectic bars – with free pedi-cabs, motorized rickshaws, and shuttles for transportation. White Linen banners will identify the participating shops, restaurants, and galleries. Visitors will stroll in their white linen, sip beverages, browse, listen to music, shop, hail a pedi-cab or catch a shuttle from boutique, to restaurant, to gallery, to bar, to market, and back again. Admission, transportation, and parking are free. Sponsored generously by Spanish Flowers Mexican Restaurant, Wind Water Gallery, Coldwell Banker United Realty, Contents Fashion Boutique, Karen Derr & Associates Realtors, The Leader News, and The Heights Pages – the event typically gathers 100 or more sponsors’ participation all over the Heights area including White Oak, Yale, Heights Blvd., 11th Street, Studewood, 19th Street, and more.
