Mason’s doing
Mason was going through a junk drawer by the refrigerator last night. He found a new pack of batteries I bought for Hurricane Ike.
He wanted to save them for him so he tried to post them on the refrigerator with the blue clip magnet. Of course the batteries were too heavy and I asked him to put them back in the drawer and that they’d be there when he needed them.
I left him in the kitchen while I went to throw out trash and came back to this sight. He was determined to put them on the ‘fridge and came up with the smart idea of using 4 magnets.
I was so proud of him. I think he’s a smart 3 year old. Ya’ll may think this is dumb and a waste of time but its the little things that matter so much with kids. He had such a huge smile on his face when I praised him for such great thinking.

Watching Ike Through the Night
After Ike had knocked out power, I kept watch over the storm and my company’s communications. This was my workstation on battery power, air card, a transistor radio for the news, my windows mobile phone, candles and a flashlight. Keeping watch over my responsibilities…

Isn’t this just fantastic? Computer running on battery power and desk lit by candles right during the strongest point of IKE. What a memorable shot! Great job James!
