I got to meet Mighty Girl!
I have been reading Mighty Girl, Maggie Mason, for years! She is insanely hilarious, creative and cute and finds the most amazing things to spend money on! I finally got to meet her in person at the Mom 2.0 Summit in Houston this past weekend. What a treat!
Most recently she has been so inspirational with writing and posting her own “bucket list” titled 100 Things to Do Before I Go. She reminds everyone to get up and live, everyday!
Her incredibly popular shopping sites, http://mightygoods.com, http://mightyjunior.com and http://mightyhaus.com always open my eyes to fabulous gifts for my kids, friends and myself.
She is soo nice and sweet in person AND her last name is MASON!
Great to finally meet you lady! :D
Thanks Holly Hoyt for the photo!

At the Menil
It was “imelda” day and I got to lay down on the lawn and read for an hour on a Saturday, all by myself… it was SOOO nice!
I love this art in the lawn because it reminds me of me. I have gone on living, all this time, but in the past 2 years have really really been somewhere else in my head. I feel like I am slightly past the middle of the loop and slowing working myself out of a mess.
Maybe in a year or so, I will be out of the loop and back on the straight path of my life.
iPhone #5…. Yep, you read right!
I’m now on my 5th iPhone! I love iPhones and won’t give up on them and try a different phone.
Here is a list of what happened with the last 4:
- Bought an original version of the iPhone March 2008, but sold it to my friend Trey when the 3G came out.
- Bought a 3G and loved it but on Danielle’s birthday, August 2008, I dropped it on the tile and it shattered
- Bought the replacement to the shattered about a week after #2 broke
- Had to replace #3 either Dec 31st or Jan 1st 2009 (should check twitter to confirm) because was having major connection issues
- Brought in #4 today, Feb 2009, because I realized the Wi-Fi didn’t work, ever. After trying to reset it and a few other things, realized it was the phone and not my home Wi-Fi or others. Got #5
I’m still a super happy iPhone owner :D
Update: iPhone #5 started freezing up almost immediately after syncing it and leaving the Apple store. Its like the touch response was dead. It wouldn’t totally freeze but I would have to turn it on and off sometimes 5 times just trying to send a text or short email. I couldn’t answer some calls because the slider was unresponsive.
I decided to take it back in Valentine’s Day. The Apple Genius tried a few diagnostic tests because usually freezing means a software issue. He thought it could have been a rogue email problem so we deleted that and then reset the phone. It seems to have stopped. He left me back-up replacement at the store in case I was still having issues.
Through out the day, it would still freeze up but not as much as before. At this point I had no music or any extra applications other than the default to cause any issues. I decided to go back at 8:30pm and pick up #6. I’m syncing it right now to get my contacts, music, podcasts and some apps back. Hope this one works better.
