Wilted flowers

Taken with Hipstamatic iPhone app

Was inspired to start a new Project 365 using only photos taken with iPhone apps after discovering the the versatile Hipstamatic iPhone app.

I have so many photo apps on my phone so this should be interesting.

This is my 3rd attempt at a Project 365. The first one was started back on Jan 1st, 2007 but I didn’t complete it because my camera broke.

I completed my 2nd attempt which I started on my birthday, April 3rd, 2007. So glad I was able to complete this project.

I’m looking forward to the iPhone only version as a fun outlet. I don’t always carry my DSLR with me or it takes me way too long to get them off the camera these days, with 3 kids now, so hopefully this will be successful.

This Christmas we are going to do a 2009 LEGO City Advent Calendar. Mason has started to like Legos and thought this would be a fun way to teach him about Christmas.

Will post a photo daily.

Well the post daily didn’t happen, because life happens but here is the completed set!

Christmas tree

Christmas tree Macro

We decorated our Christmas Tree this past Saturday.

Chris was visiting from California and Mason really wanted to decorate for Christmas so we thought we would do it while he was here. Matt’s parents came to help and have fun as well.

While I like the tree decorated, this photo is my favorite from the day. Its still so simple and natural.

We ended the day with yummy baked apples a la mode courtesy of Matt.

I got to attend a special viewing of the Terra Cotta Warriors –
Guardians of China’s First Emperor, which is on exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science between May 22, 2009 – October 18, 2009.

Our Flickr Group had special permission to photograph the exhibit. What an opportunity! Thank you HMNS and Erin!

Exhibition made possible by the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau and the Museum of the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang, Peoples Republic of China with the Houston Museum of Natural Science in cooperation with The Bowers Museum and National Geographic Museum.

After you’ve seen the exhibit, why not go to Houston’s own Forbidden Garden in Katy? Its an outdoor museum that boasts 6,000 terra cotta soldier replicas!
