My current view
Trying to be ok with the fact that this is my current view.
How did I get here? – Doesn’t matter. I know I won’t always be here.
I would rather be sitting in a Japanese Zen Garden in a city with less than 50% humidity. But what I want also doesn’t matter.
It just is.

Chevy + Blue Bell = What a fun day
My family and I were invited on a special road trip hosted by Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston, Texas. When I heard “ICE CREAM”, I couldn’t refuse. Other who were invited where Nanette #1, Nanette #2, Missy and Ashley.
The day started with us meeting up at Lone Star Chevrolet, meeting some of the sales and marketing teams including Donna McLallen and Vanessa Astros. I met Donna at Mom 2.0 Summit 2010 in February. We signed papers and went to pick out our cars we’d drive to Brenham, Texas! I had never been to Brenham so I was pretty excited about going. I love small Texas towns so glad I got the opportunity.
Since I was recently a Chevy Girl on the Go and got to test drive a Malibu for a month, I wanted to try a different car. We picked the Traverse! Man, that car is roomy!
We were given a walk through of this crossover vehicle that fits 7 or 8 passengers. This LTZ model was loaded with heated and cooled front seats, second row captains chairs, OnStar, XM Radio, Rear Parking Assist, Remote start (favorite!), power remote lift gate, Rearview camera system, Bluetooth, 115-volt outlet, DVD player and a ton of space! I have a Chevy Trailblazer and really wanted to compare the size. This vehicle is much roomier and fits more people but doesn’t feel huge on the outside. It was also AWD and had a much smoother, quieter ride.
We arrived at Blue Bell Creamery and were given a tour! I didn’t realize how old the company was, 103 years old this coming August! A Blue Bell is actually a purple flower. We got to see a number of flavors being made as well as some novelty items.
Every employee gets to eat as much ice cream as they want. If I worked there, I would eat so much of one of their newest creations, Happy Tracks! At the end of the tour we get to try the ice cream of course. I didn’t know what flavor that was until this tour and its already a favorite. Creamy vanilla ice cream loaded with chocolate-coated peanut butter cups and a dark chocolate fudge swirl. Even Matt loved it. Mason had Rainbow Sherbet.
So we eat Ice Cream first then go for lunch? Ok, fine with me! Matt is a huge BBQ fan while I don’t eat it, but it was still fun to head out to Big Daddy’s BBQ. We used OnStar Turn by Turn Navigation to there. We were able to take the scenic route through town. We didn’t have time to stop anywhere but its definitely a town I want to come back and explore.
Matt and Mason had to have their brisket and both were very satisfied. If you want to try the Best BBQ in Washington County, its located in the Shell Gas Station.
Fun. Was. Had!
