::Classic Christmas Elves!::
Onesome: Classic– get togethers? Is that on the list for next week, say about Thursday? …or do you ‘lone wolf’ the Thanksgiving season?
Every year for as long as I can remember, my dad and I have this same conversation on Thanksgiving. Instead of all the time cooking and stressing over the same Turkey and fixings, we want to go to a Japanese place for Thanksgiving meal instead. We never get our way and are always with family at one home or another.
This year I will be going to my in-laws house in Lake Jackson. My brother and sister in law from Austin will also be there so that should be fun. I’m bringing pumpkin and pecan pie.
Twosome: Christmas– Ready or not, here it comes! Complete with shopping and decorations and wants and needs and yeah… Are you ready for the experience? …or does a nice South Seas cruise sound like a workable alternative?
I am not looking forward to spending money and shopping. I am not even looking forward to receiving any gifts, but I’ll take part to an extent because others feel I should.
Last year, instead of exchanging Christmas gifts with my husband’s family, we went on a family cruise the first week of January. Aside from and incident in Belize and my son being a bit young, we overall had a good time and I’d do it again.
Threesome: Elves– and other helpers? Do you have any lined up to assist on Thanksgiving Day? …or to decorate in the weeks to come. …or do you even need them?
I will get help with the pies for Thanksgiving. Decorating, we keep it low key in our home. We will do a tree and put out some home decorations but I like a simple, uncluttered look. We also have a 2 story house so don’t put lights on it but in the bushes. We decorate for the kids.

Onesome: Motorola–, Sanyo, Samsung? Which brand of cell phone are you most pleased with?
I have had them all, Motorola, Sanyo, Samsung and Nokia. I use a Motorla PEBL now and its fine, but I really want an iPhone!
Twosome: Phone– time, and more time, and more time… Okay, are you one of those who simply lives on their phone? …or do you consider phones a necessary evil?
I don’t talk on the phone that much and when I do, its for a specific purpose. Unlike my daughter who talks on the phone way too much!
Threesome: Tools– of the trade? Do you use your phones more for work use or for personal use?
I don’t use my phone for work at all. Its all for me. I don’t have the internets on my phone but do use it for text messaging.

::Time is on my Side::
Onesome: Time is– your friend? …or your enemy? It’s your call, but how do you feel about “time”? Are you in need of a spare cupful? …or are you set?
It seems I never have enough time in a day. I wake up at 4:45am to get to my vanpool to get to work. I work a 9 hour day. I come back to my car at about 4:45pm then my mommy time begins until about 9. Then there is some me time to blog, surf, process and post photos, watch tv and spend time with my husband. I really could use some more time off than the short time I had before starting my current position.
Twosome: on my– way out the door, the last thing I check is to see……. Go ahead, fill in the blank!
if my bedroom door is closed so I don’t come home to find my big dogs shedding their hair on my bed. I also check to make sure any food is put away or pushed way back off the counters, again s so my dogs can’t get to it. Trakker is such a food stealer. Blanca is also a sock stealer so another reason to close my bedroom door.

Onesome: World– Wide Web resources? Is there one particular area of your life, personal or professional, where you use the web as an informational resource? Knitting? Medical? Research
I use the web for so much. Online banking, calendars, email, blogging, photo sharing, keeping up with friends, news, weather, managing dvd rentals, travel guides, restaurant reviews.. the list goes on and on. I have been a web developer since 1995 so I am always on the computer and couldn’t live without it.
Twosome: of– the 168 hours in a given week, how much time do you spend on the computer? No, we’re not looking to plan an intervention, just curious…
My job as a web developer keeps me on the computer all day at work. I wake up and use the computer for about 15-30 minutes before I even leave for work. Then after work, I am on for a minimum of 30 minutes but mostly more than that most nights. So I’d say I am on the computer A LOT! And I want an iPhone so I can be even more connected! ;)
Threesome: Warcraft– games? Poker games? Role playing games? Do you play games on your computer? Really? What kind of games?
I used to play more games than I do now. My time on the computer has continued to grow, but I have higher priorities than games. When I did play them, I played ol’ Tetris, Solitaire, Snood (freakishly addicting), Mahjong, Gold Miner, and a bunch of random Mac Games. When my husband and I were dating and in different cities, we would play online backgammon–he usually won but if he didn’t, he’d just turn off the computer! We don’t play too many games anymore unless we can’t sleep or truly bored. Oh and I do like the song identification game on my iPod.

Onesome: A–round this time of year? What’s happening with the weather where you are? Ch-ch-changes? …or are things still ‘Summery’?
In Houston, the weather is trying to change to cooler temperatures but its having a hard time. It was SO humid yesterday, about 110% or more. I can’t wait for cooler, crisp weather so I can wear sweaters again. I love sweaters!
Twosome: to– inventory your place for insurance coverage, what would it take? Too much work? How about ideas for the gang: is video taping with a voiceover the way to go?
I tried to do this once about 6 years ago. I took photos and also video. We have moved and a lot has changed so all the data is useless now. Not even sure where it is. I take more photos now so I think I could do a pretty good inventory of the major stuff in a weekend.
Threesome: Z– one coverage? …better than “man”? Are you following any football teams this year? How are they doing?
I’m not really into any team sports. Neither is my husband and I love that about him. So glad that we never have to argue about him watching the game or wanting to spend tons of money on game tickets or dragging the family to tailgate. We do watch NHL Hockey on occasion but not enough to know how any teams are doing.
